Why keepers choose Live Calci Worms
Visible engagement is the clearest reason to choose them. They are 100% black soldier fly larvae, easy to portion at 10g per hen and designed to sit alongside balanced layers feed—not replace it.
Across controlled poultry studies, birds readily sought, pecked and ate live black soldier fly larvae. That supports describing them as an engaging feeding-enrichment option, but it does not justify guaranteeing better health, more eggs or stronger eggshells.
What the nutrition analyses show
Two analyses of our frozen whole larvae reported approximately 43–46% crude protein on a dry-matter basis. Published research also shows that black soldier fly larvae composition varies with feed, life stage and processing, so we do not present one batch result as a guaranteed value for every pouch.
Feed 10g per hen per day, keep treats to no more than 15% of total feed, and continue to provide balanced layers feed and fresh water.
